Conference “Public Procurement in Serbia: New Law, Old (Corrupt) Practices”
The Center for Applied European Studies (CPES) and the Association of Public Procurement Professionals organized seminars, conferences and discussions on the efficiency of the public procurement system in Serbia. The reasons for the extremely low level of competition in public procurement were discussed, as well as the reasons why public procurement is still the strongest generator of corruption in Serbia. Topics that have stood out over time are the legal and institutional framework in the fight against corruption, the current state and potential of competent institutions, but also the role of professional associations and the public in preventing corruption in public procurement. Special attention was on the issue of monitoring the execution of contracts, as one of the main measures for preventing and combating corruption in public procurement.
Aleksandra Litričin was one of the speakers at this conference, and you can watch the presentation at this link.
